TERMS & CONDITIONS
The Alternative Midwife × With Woman Clinic
Effective from: 1st October 2026
Client-facing terms for BBB programmes, circles and associated support.
1. About these terms
These Terms & Conditions apply when you book a Birth, Body + Beyond Club (“BBB”) programme, Pregnancy Circle, event or associated service directly through BBB.
BBB is delivered collaboratively by Gemma Clifford / The Alternative Midwife and Niki Finney / With Woman Clinic. By completing a booking and payment, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
2. What the BBB programme includes
The core Birth, Body + Beyond Club programme is a pregnancy-to-postnatal education and recovery programme. Your booking confirmation will set out the exact dates and inclusions for the cohort you have selected.
The core programme currently includes three 2.5-hour group sessions, usually delivered on the first three Tuesdays of the selected month from 6.00 pm to 8.30 pm:
BIRTH — primarily led by Gemma.
BODY — primarily led by Niki.
BEYOND — jointly delivered by Gemma and Niki.
The programme also includes the individual postnatal appointments stated in your booking confirmation, currently Understanding Your Birth with Gemma and Understanding Your Body with Niki, usually arranged approximately 6–12 weeks after birth.
Light snacks and refreshments are provided at the group sessions. Please tell us about allergies, dietary requirements, disabilities, access requirements or other adjustments that may affect your participation.
3. Pregnancy Circle
BBB Pregnancy Circle is a separate group offering unless your booking expressly states otherwise. Club members may receive priority access or included attendance according to the package purchased.
Pregnancy Circle is currently planned for the first Friday of the month from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm. Dates, venue and availability will always be confirmed at booking.
Places are limited. Where advance booking is available, booking your chosen month is the best way to secure a place. A saved or discussed place is not confirmed until BBB has issued booking confirmation where payment or formal booking is required.
4. Venue and access
The venue address and arrival instructions will be provided in your booking confirmation. Where sessions are held at Murmurations Therapy Rooms / The Nest, please follow the specific access instructions provided with your booking.
Some venues may involve stairs or have particular access arrangements. Please contact us before attending if you have mobility, sensory or other accessibility requirements so that we can discuss reasonable adjustments and whether the venue can meet your needs.
Please come in comfortable clothing suitable for sitting, moving and participating in the session as you wish.
5. Booking and payment
Your place is confirmed once the required payment has been successfully received and BBB has issued booking confirmation.
The price shown at the time of booking is the price payable for that booking unless an obvious pricing error has occurred.
Where a booking is made for a couple, the booking covers the pregnant person and the partner or birth supporter identified for the programme, unless the booking description states otherwise.
You are responsible for ensuring that the contact details and other information supplied during booking are accurate.
6. Changing your mind and statutory cancellation rights
Your statutory cancellation rights depend on the nature of the service booked, how the contract was made, and whether the service is scheduled for a specific date or period. Some contracts for services provided on specific dates may be exempt from the usual 14-day distance-contract cancellation right.
Where a statutory right to cancel applies to your booking, BBB will honour that right in accordance with applicable consumer law. If you ask us to begin providing a service during an applicable cancellation period, we may ask you to make the request expressly and acknowledge any effect this has on your cancellation rights.
The cancellation policy below is contractual and applies in addition to any statutory rights you may have. It does not remove or restrict rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Your cancellation or request to transfer
BBB programmes have limited places and reserve a place across several sessions. If you need to cancel, please tell us as soon as possible in writing.
Unless your statutory rights require otherwise, the following BBB cancellation policy applies:
More than 28 days before the first group session: we will offer a transfer to another available cohort or a refund, less any non-recoverable third-party booking/payment fees where it is lawful to deduct them.
14–28 days before the first group session: we will normally offer a transfer to another available cohort. A refund will be considered where we are able to refill your place, subject to any amounts we are legally entitled to retain.
Less than 14 days before the first group session: the booking is normally non-refundable, although we will try to offer a transfer where space and circumstances allow.
After the programme has started: missed group sessions are not normally refundable or transferable individually.
We recognise that pregnancy is unpredictable. If you cannot attend because of birth, pregnancy complications, hospital admission, significant illness or another exceptional pregnancy-related circumstance, please contact us. We will consider the circumstances fairly and may offer an alternative cohort, alternative support or another reasonable solution where possible.
Any discretionary transfer or refund offered outside your legal rights does not create an ongoing entitlement to the same arrangement in other circumstances.
8. Missed sessions and late arrival
If you miss a session or arrive late for reasons outside BBB’s control, we cannot guarantee that the session can be repeated privately or that a refund will be available.
Where practical, we may provide relevant handouts or discuss another reasonable way for you to access key information. This will depend on the nature of the missed material and facilitator availability.
9. If BBB cancels or changes a session
Occasionally we may need to change a facilitator, venue, date or delivery arrangement because of illness, emergency, venue problems, safety concerns or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where a material change is required, we will tell you as soon as reasonably possible and aim to provide a suitable alternative.
If BBB cancels a session or programme and cannot provide a reasonable alternative, you will be offered an appropriate refund for the part of the service that BBB is unable to provide.
BBB is not responsible for consequential losses such as travel, childcare, accommodation or loss of earnings, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Individual postnatal appointments
Postnatal appointments included in your BBB package will be arranged separately after birth, usually within the approximate timeframe stated in your booking information.
You are responsible for contacting or responding to BBB to arrange these appointments. If circumstances mean the usual timeframe is not appropriate, please speak to us.
If you need to rearrange an individual appointment, please provide as much notice as possible. Repeated late cancellations or non-attendance may result in the included appointment being treated as used, except where this would be unfair or contrary to your statutory rights. Pregnancy, birth and postnatal circumstances will always be considered reasonably.
11. Education, information and clinical care
BBB provides education, preparation, discussion and postnatal recovery support. Group teaching is general information and is not a substitute for individual medical assessment, diagnosis, emergency care or advice from the healthcare professionals responsible for your maternity or medical care.
Your circumstances may differ from examples discussed in sessions. You remain responsible for seeking individual medical advice where needed and for making your own decisions about your care.
Where Gemma or Niki provides an individual professional assessment or service within their respective scope of practice, they remain professionally responsible for the care they personally provide.
If you are worried about your own health, your pregnancy, your baby or an urgent medical issue, contact the appropriate maternity, NHS or emergency service rather than waiting for a response from BBB.
12. Participation and group environment
BBB is designed to be a respectful, inclusive and supportive space. Participants are expected to treat facilitators and other group members with respect.
Personal stories may be shared during sessions. Please do not repeat another participant’s identifiable personal information or story outside the group without their permission.
BBB may ask a participant to leave a session or discontinue attendance where behaviour is abusive, discriminatory, threatening, persistently disruptive or creates a safety concern. Any decision about remaining programme fees will be considered fairly in the circumstances and in accordance with consumer law.
13. Health, allergies and accessibility information
We may ask for limited health, pregnancy, allergy, disability or accessibility information where this is relevant to safe and appropriate participation or reasonable adjustments.
Health information is sensitive personal data and will be handled in accordance with the BBB Privacy Policy and Joint Controller arrangements.
You are responsible for telling us about information that you reasonably believe we need in order to provide the service safely, including significant allergies or access needs. You do not need to disclose unrelated medical information.
14. Food and refreshments
Light snacks and refreshments may be provided. Please tell us about allergies or dietary requirements before attending.
Although reasonable care will be taken, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment, particularly where food is prepared or supplied by third parties. If you have a severe allergy, please contact us before attending so that we can discuss the arrangements with you.
15. Photography, recording and social media
Participants may not make audio or video recordings of BBB sessions without prior permission from BBB and the consent of anyone who may be identifiable.
BBB will not use identifiable photographs, video, testimonials or personal stories of participants for promotional purposes without an appropriate lawful basis and, where required, clear permission.
Permission for marketing photographs or testimonials is optional and is not a condition of receiving BBB services.
16. Course materials and intellectual property
BBB handouts, slides, exercises, written resources, recordings, branding and other course materials are protected intellectual property belonging to BBB, The Alternative Midwife, With Woman Clinic or the relevant creator.
Materials supplied to you are for your personal use. They must not be copied, sold, published, uploaded, taught commercially or distributed to others without written permission.
Nothing in these terms prevents you from using what you learn for your own pregnancy, birth, postnatal recovery or family life.
17. Privacy and communications
Personal information is handled in accordance with the BBB Privacy Policy. Gemma / The Alternative Midwife and Niki / With Woman Clinic may act as joint controllers for BBB information where they jointly decide why and how it is processed.
Practical communications about a booking or service are not the same as marketing communications. Marketing will only be sent where BBB has an appropriate lawful basis and will include a way to opt out where required.
18. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.
Subject to those protections, BBB is not responsible for loss caused by information being used outside the context in which it was provided, decisions made contrary to individual medical advice, or events outside BBB’s reasonable control.
The services are provided with reasonable care and skill as required by applicable consumer law.
19. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of BBB, please contact us as soon as possible so that we have an opportunity to understand and address the concern.
BBB contact email: admin@birthbodybeyond.com
Where a complaint relates specifically to professional care provided independently by Gemma or Niki, it may also be handled under the complaints process of The Alternative Midwife or With Woman Clinic as appropriate.
20. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version that applies to your booking will normally be the version provided or made available when you booked, unless a change is required by law or is clearly beneficial to you and does not reduce your rights.
21. Governing law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also have the benefit of mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings available under the law applicable to you.
